Favourite Moments DT Dusty Attic August Moodboard

Welcome Dusty Attic friends!

Now it is my turn to feature a layout using the
beautiful Dusty Attic Moodboard for August.

I was inspired from the natural colours which reminds me on forest, water and sunshine.
So I chose a photo from a beautiful and relaxed hiking tour through the Saxon Switzerland National Park.

How I begun

I used a background paper from Maja Design. Firstly I primed the page with Clear Gesso. Then some stencils with white Modeling paste. After drying time I always love to work with brushes and diluted acrylic paints in various shades suitable to the Moodboard colours.

I'm a big fan of this very natural looking grass clusters, branches and wildflowers.
I painted with acrylic colours and chose for the wildflowers a dark green mixed with a little bit black and finally highlighted with white in dry brush technique.

Firstly primed with a Metallic Acrylic paint 'Dark Patina' (DecoArt),
at the bottom edge painted with some brush strokes and black paint for more contrast,
so it looks like a meadow silhouette.
In upper part with adiluted lighter green tone onto some places.

I was inspired to create a canvas with Decoupage technique and 3D effect.
I used as basic a beautiful stil life tissue from my stuff.

Smell of Lavender

Welcome creative friends!

During the first spring clean-up works in my garden I had to cut the lavender
and was surrounded by wonderful scented clouds.
This wonderful scent inspired me to design a new mixed media canvas.

I always love the nature feeling in a wheathered look
and I'm a big fan of the shabby chic style too.

So I combined different elements like a metal sign, wood branch,
hemp string, snail and shell housing and very important,
some stems from my garden lavender.

I loved to work on this canvas and every time I blow dried the colours
I was surrounded by this wonderful lavender scent.

That was really the best thing about it, why didn't think of it earlier?

I was inspired from the nature texture and the delicate colours

New beginnings

Hello friends!

Start of spring and nobody notices.  We sinked in the snow.
But against that, you can do something or?!
I took the time to try something new for myself, it is the first page of a future junk journal. I have used pressed flowers, a way to preserve the snowdrops and let them bloom today suitable to the beginning of spring.

Have a good time!
Let the Springtime begin :-)
